Description
Your day begins at the Étang Z’Abricots marina in Fort-de-France. You will cross the bay to reach the Génipa mangrove, one of Martinique’s protected ecosystems, accompanied by Cyriaque, your guide and captain. Passionate about the sea and local history, he will introduce you to the mangrove swamp and its red and black mangroves, as well as the wildlife that inhabits it: birds, crabs, tropical fish… He will explain the essential role of this fragile environment.
Next, head to Petit Îlet, a small piece of land in the heart of the bay. You will visit the islet with your guide, who will introduce you to its history, fauna and flora, before enjoying a light snack including a homemade planteur or local juice. This moment will offer you a real break in nature.
You will continue sailing to Anse Mitan, then Anse à l’Âne, where you will be offered lunch in a restaurant by the water’s edge, with chicken or fish colombo and a local dessert on the menu. After this break, head to Îlet à Ramiers, an iconic spot in the bay with its old fort and volcanic rocks, then pass by the bat cave, which is only accessible from the sea.
The journey continues to Anses Noires and Anse Dufour to admire these beaches from the sea, before reaching Anses d’Arlet and its iconic church. With a bit of luck, you may spot some sea turtles. To end the day, stop at Grande Anse: swimming, snorkelling, relaxing, shopping or enjoying a drink on the terrace, depending on your mood, before returning by boat to Fort-de-France.
