Harvest Fresh Ingredients from a Creole Garden
Your experience begins at 9:30 a.m. with a walk through a traditional Creole garden. Harvest fresh herbs and local spices such as chili peppers, thym bwa (Caribbean thyme), basil, and other aromatic plants that play an essential role in Martinican cuisine.
Cook a Traditional Creole Meal
At 10:00 a.m., it’s time to step into the kitchen. Together with your host, you’ll prepare a traditional Martinican meal using fresh local vegetables, island spices, farm-raised meat, and the catch of the day.
As you cook, you’ll learn authentic recipes, traditional techniques, and the culinary secrets that make Creole cuisine so unique.
Enjoy a Traditional Creole Lunch
At 11:30 a.m., sit down and enjoy the meal you’ve prepared together.
Lunch includes fresh fruit juices, thé péyi (traditional herbal tea), still and sparkling water, Martinique AOC rum, and homemade planter’s punch. Finish your meal with a traditional dessert, herbal infusion, and coffee.
Discover the Traditions of Bèlè
The cultural experience continues at 2:00 p.m. with an introduction to Martinique’s history and the traditions of Bèlè, the island’s iconic music and dance.
You’ll also discover traditional musical games and learn about Lafouyetè, a unique practice that combines agricultural work with the rhythmic beats of the Bèlè drum.
This interactive workshop offers a deeper understanding of Martinique’s living heritage and the traditions that continue to shape its identity today.
End the Day with Local Treats
At 3:30 p.m., enjoy a final gourmet break featuring traditional pastries, local sweets, and a cup of thé péyi made with herbs from the Creole garden.
This immersive experience offers a memorable way to discover Martinique through its cuisine, music, traditions, and warm hospitality.
