Description
Martinique is home to magnificent diving spots on its Caribbean coast, with turquoise waters and sites teeming with life and surprising underwater wonders. In the town of Trois-Ilets, we invite you to embark on your first dive in Martinique.
What to expect
Scuba diving is a great way to connect with nature and discover what lies beneath the surface of Martinique’s crystal clear waters.
We invite you to meet us at the Pointe du Bout marina, where you’ll be introduced to your state-certified professional instructors. Embark on our comfortable catamaran—everything is on board our spacious boats (equipment, drinks, shower, and a relaxed atmosphere), so there’s no hassle, just beautiful dives.
As soon as you board, you can enjoy a coffee or tea in a warm atmosphere with our friendly and caring team. The instructors will provide you with flippers, masks, and wetsuits according to your size. After a short briefing on underwater communication gestures and instructions for a safe exploration, we will set off for about 25 minutes of navigation, depending on the spot of the day.
The view of the creeks of Trois-Ilets and Anses d’Arlet will leave you in awe. You’ll also enjoy views of the bay of Fort-de-France with the peaks of Carbet and even Mount Pelée. You may even catch a glimpse of our neighboring island, Saint Lucia. Our dive sites include Anse Dufour, the Nahon wreck, Cap Salomon, or Pointe Burgos, depending on the schedule.
The first diving
You do not need to know how to swim for your first dive in Martinique, as the wetsuit assists with flotation. As the diving center is disabled-certified, the first dive is also accessible to people with reduced mobility. The boat is equipped with a launching platform, and buoyancy compensators help you move through the water with your arms.
To start, you’ll familiarize yourself with the environment by exploring with a mask and snorkel. Once you’re comfortable, your instructor will help you put on your vest with an oxygen tank and will review the underwater communication gestures. You’ll enjoy a one-on-one underwater experience between 0 and 6 meters deep for adults, and slightly shallower for children (from 8 years old).
Professional dive instructors will put novices at ease and teach them the basics of diving.
It is possible to accompany a diver and enjoy the boat, swim, or sunbathe. We provide flippers, masks, and snorkels for you to use on the boat. Upon returning from the excursion, you can enjoy our famous local cocktail, the Planteur, or a soft drink.
Discover the hidden treasures of the southern Caribbean during your first dive in Martinique—an activity that will leave you with unforgettable memories!
