Martinique is home to magnificent diving spots on its Caribbean coast, with turquoise waters and sites full of life and surprising underwater wonders. It is in the town of Trois Ilets that we suggest you embark for your first dive in Martinique.
What to expect
Scuba diving is a great way to connect with nature and discover what lies beneath the surface of Martinique’s crystal clear waters.
We give you an appointment at the Pointe du Bout marina, to meet your state-certified professional instructors. Embark on the comfortable catamaran, everything is on board our spacious boats (equipment, drinks, shower… and relaxed atmosphere), so no handling and beautiful dives.
As soon as you board, you can enjoy a coffee or tea in a warm atmosphere with a friendly and caring team. The instructors put flippers, masks and wetsuits at your disposal according to your size. After a short briefing on the gestures of communication under water and the instructions for a good exploration, we leave for about 25 minutes of navigation depending on the spot of the day.
The view of the creeks of Trois Ilets and Anses d’Arlet will leave you in awe. What about the bay of Fort de France with the peaks of Carbet and even Mount Pelée. You will even be able to see our neighboring island, Saint Lucia. Head for the Anse Dufour spots, the Nahon wreck, Cap Salomon or Pointe Burgos depending on the schedule.
The first diving
It is not necessary to know how to swim for the first diving in Martinique, the wetsuit helping with flotation. As the diving center is disabled-certified, the first dive is also accessible to people with reduced mobility. The boat has a launching platform and the buoyancy compensators help to move through the water with the arms.
At first you will familiarize yourself with the environment while exploring with mask and snorkels. Once you are comfortable, your instructor will put on your vest with an oxygen bottle and remind you of the underwater communication gestures. One instructor per person for a real underwater trip between 0 and 6 meters deep for adults and a little less for children (from 8 years old).
Professional dive instructors will put novices at ease and teach them the basics of diving.
It is possible to accompany a diver and enjoy the boat, swim or sunbathe. We put flippers, mask and snorkel at your disposal on the boat. When you return from the excursion, you can taste our famous local cocktail: the planteur, or a soft drink.
