Meet your crew at 9:00 AM in Le François. After boarding, your captain sets course for the islets of Le François.
First, enjoy a scenic cruise through the lagoon. Your captain shares stories about the islets and explains some of the history and local traditions of the Atlantic coast.
Next, the boat follows the coral reefs towards Le Robert. You then reach Îlet Chancel, one of the most iconic sites in this part of Martinique.
Îlet Chancel and Its Iguanas
Once ashore, discover the remains of a former sugar estate. Îlet Chancel is also home to a population of Lesser Antillean iguanas.
With your guide, observe these iguanas in their natural environment. You also learn more about the island’s history and local biodiversity.
Swimming at Josephine’s Bath
Then, head back towards the white-sand shallows of Le François. Your boat takes you to the famous Josephine’s Bath.
Enjoy a swim in the shallow waters and take in the surrounding scenery. If you wish, you can also explore the area with a mask, fins and snorkel. Snorkeling equipment is not provided.
To make this stop even more enjoyable, the crew serves a Creole aperitif directly in the water. You can enjoy:
- Homemade planter
- Ti-punch and artisanal rum punches
- Fresh fruit juices and chilled water
- Locally prepared cod or vegetable fritters
A Creole Lunch on a Private Islet
At lunchtime, the crew sets up a welcoming dining area on an islet.
Enjoy a traditional Martinican lunch featuring fish and chicken served with rice and local specialties.
Afterwards, treat yourself to a homemade dessert. Coffee and a tasting of aged rum follow. Finally, a local sweet treat rounds off the meal.
