The hike covers approximately 5.7 kilometers and takes between 2 and 2.5 hours. Along the way, you’ll experience an incredible variety of landscapes.
At the beginning of the trail, enjoy spectacular views of Table du Diable. This uninhabited rocky islet rises just offshore along the Atlantic coast. Powerful waves regularly crash against its cliffs, creating an impressive natural spectacle.
The trail then continues toward Pointe d’Enfer, a rugged coastal headland where you can watch the Atlantic waves breaking dramatically against the rocks.
As you move along the trail, the scenery gradually changes. You’ll walk through dry coastal vegetation and discover landscapes that almost resemble a Caribbean desert.
This remarkable diversity makes the Savane des Pétrifications hike a unique way to explore the natural side of southern Martinique.
