Description
Located in the town of Sainte-Anne, at the end of Salines beach, this hike to the savannah of petrifications will reveal its flora of dry coastal forest. Its fauna, and the island volcanism of one of the oldest emerged parts of Martinique. Thanks to your professional guide, you will discover the prehistoric Martinique during this hike at Les Salines.
Indeed, the petrification savannah was a vast stone-cutting workshop for the Caribs back in the time.
You will be surprised by the diversity of desert landscapes offered by this hike for 7 km round trip. At the begining, you will have a breathtaking view of the Table du Diable (devil’s table). It is an uninhabited islet and frequently overwhelmed by the breaking waves of the Atlantic.
You will pass by Pointe d’Enfer, a cape where you can admire the waves crashing on the hills.
Your guide will adapt to your pace in order to allow you to enjoy this nature which confirms the diversity of Martinique’s landscapes.
You could enjoy a moment of comfort after this physical effort with a well-deserved swim!
