Description
La Caravelle à Trinité is located on the Atlantic coast, it forms a projection of around ten kilometers into the ocean. Its end is today a protected nature reserve. It is the perfect site for a beautiful hike in Martinique.
Due to this advanced location, it receives significantly less rain than the rest of the island and has a particular dry forest ecosystem. The diversity of its landscapes is absolutely remarkable. You follow the small loop extended by the Baie des Trésors. Not far away, you can observe the Caravelle Lighthouse (149m) dating from 1861, when Napoleon 3 was president of the republic. The panorama all along the route is magnificent.
The hiking trail “Circuit des mares” where our guide will take you to goes though almost the totality of the reserve and starts with a shady and stony way though the forest.
The hike of the Caravelle nature reserve is one of the most beautiful hikes in Martinique! Perhaps you will spot the white-throated mockingbird, an endemic bird found only on the reserve.
He is a professional guide who will give you all the explanations about the place and will guarantee the safety of your walk during your hike to the Caravelle.
