South Martinique Tour: Local Flavors, History, and Stunning Coastal Scenery

Discover the highlights of Southern Martinique on a guided tour that combines local traditions, historical landmarks, and breathtaking Caribbean landscapes. This half-day excursion takes you to some of the island’s most iconic sites while offering the perfect mix of culture, history, and relaxation.

Discover the Flavors of Martinique

Your adventure begins in Le Lamentin, where you’ll immerse yourself in the authentic flavors of Martinique. Discover a selection of local spices, handcrafted chocolates, locally roasted coffee, and tropical teas while meeting passionate artisans who proudly share their traditions and expertise.

This stop is also the perfect opportunity to take home authentic products from Martinique.

Depending on opening hours, this visit may be replaced by a local market. In this case, no tasting will be included.

Visit the Cap 110 Memorial

Next, continue to the Cap 110 Memorial, one of Martinique’s most important historical landmarks. The fifteen stone statues facing the Caribbean Sea honor the victims of slavery and commemorate the history of the transatlantic slave trade.

As you explore the site, your guide shares the powerful story behind this moving memorial and its significance in Martinique’s history.

Admire the Diamond Rock Viewpoint

Then, head to one of the island’s most spectacular viewpoints overlooking the famous Diamond Rock. This iconic volcanic landmark has become one of Martinique’s most recognizable symbols.

Your guide explains its fascinating history and strategic role during the colonial era while you enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea.

Don’t forget your camera—this is one of the best photo opportunities on the island.

Relax in Les Anses d’Arlet

Finally, visit the charming fishing village of Les Anses d’Arlet, famous for its picturesque church and iconic pier stretching into the turquoise sea.

Enjoy some free time to stroll through the village, relax on the white sand beach, or swim in the crystal-clear Caribbean waters. If you enjoy snorkeling, you may also spot colorful tropical fish and, depending on the conditions, the sea turtles that regularly visit the bay.

Your South Martinique tour concludes around 1:30 p.m., leaving you with unforgettable memories of the island’s natural beauty, rich history, and authentic Caribbean atmosphere.

    Exploring Martinique

Had a great tour with Akina. She filled us with lots of history, stories, and more! Many interesting and fun stops. If short on time, an excellent way to see the southern part of the island. Akina is a wonderful tour guide!

    Brilliant tour

Absolutely fantastic experience. Akina was a great guide – funny and informative, and found time to speak to everyone individually. It was easy to arrange, and to be picked up from my hotel. I enjoyed every stop, from the beach to Diamond rock, to the rum tasting at the distillery. Definitely recommend.

    Excellent half day tour!

Really good way of discovering the south of the island in 5 hours. Good explanations
providing by Brice, our guide, and all ran to time.

Our driver/guide, Stephan, read his group well, mixing personal vignettes and jokes for an informative and enjoyable tour. When the AC in our van died, Stephan arranged for a new car, and since that added to the length of our stay at out first stop, he extended the length of the tour to compensate and ensure that we weren’t shortchanged due to car problems. Bravo!
